To be married legally in Missouri or Illinois you must obtain a marriage license at the Office of the County Clerk. There is no waiting period in either state. In Missouri you may obtain a license at any courthouse in the state and it may be used anywhere within the state.  In Illinois you must obtain a license in the courthouse of the county in which the marriage ceremony will be performed.

We also offer commitment ceremonies for LBGT couples who wish to have a formal ceremony of the declaration of their love. Missouri does not recognize these ceremonies legally. In Illinois these ceremonies can be done in conjunction with a declaration of civil union. A civil union is recognized in Illinois and provides some legal benefits.
